I am a complete beginner in the Mandarin language. I have no idea how to say a word! However, I feel truely motivated to learn conversationa l Madarin and to eventualy learn to read and write it as well. I am lucky enough to speak, read and write French and English, English being my native tongue but would love to tackle a new language. I am commited to learn with a patient teacher that can start me off from the very basics. I live in the east end and do not drive... Lessons somewhere TTC accessible and prefferably in the east end would be an asset.

Hello, my name is Kim Reis and I am very interested in learning to speak Mandarin. As of now I only understand a few phrases in Madarin but I wish to become fluent in the language. I am in regular contact with someone who currently lives in Wuhan but there is a very large language barrier between us so conversations are very basic in nature. I plan to visit China next year so I wish to learn as much Mandarin as possible over the next 6 months so that I will be comfortable in travelling throughout the country. I would be interested in spending at least 2 hours a week in instruction; more if needed. The qualities that I am looking for in a teacher are very simple; someone who has enough experience working with beginners and who is located close to downtown Toronto.
