I am interested in learning Chinese (Mandarin). Unfortunately , I have no proficiency at all in this language. My goal is to be fluent in all aspects of Mandarin - hopefully, in a year's time, I can converse effectively and properly. I want to learn Chinese because 1.) I believe its going to be an important language in the global arena, 2.) I think it's going to be a major advantage in my career since I'm interested in international relations, and 3.) it seems an interesting and challenging language to master.
Th at said, I am a focused and committed student. I would be happy to adjust my studying hours with what's convenient and efficient for both my teacher and myself. I am looking for someone who is a lively, patient and competent teacher who can customize the learning process according to my needs and goals. Thanks!

I'm at the intermediate level. I've already learned the pinyin system and I've learned a few characters. I can speak and understand pretty well, but I want to be able to conduct interviews in chinese so it needs to get better.
