I have business in the Caribbean and Central America and need to become more proficient in the Spanish language. My proficiency level is late beginner/inte rmediate. I really need to improve my skills in understanding when the other person speaks. I can dedicate 4 hours a week to learning the language. I am a beginning spanish student. I will travel to Lima and Cusco in September or October of 2008. I want to stay with a local family and attend classes part of the days for 3-4 hours or informally with someone fluent in both english and spanish languages. I could stay for 4 to 6 weeks depending on costs. My goal is to be able to speak well enough to travel and ask for what I need and to be able to have friendly conversations with local people.
