I am moving to Kilcoy in January 2006 and hopefully undertaking a graduate diploma in education (externally) with QUT. I am looking at travelling overseas at the end of 2006 to Brazil and central/south america and as i am also going to do a TESOL course in 2006, i would like to be able to teach english in Brazil for a while. So, i am looking at studying a bit of portuguese to get me by! I have studied spanish at university for 2 years and Italian for a year, so i think portuguese shouldn't be too difficult to grasp!
I need to be able to access information both over the internet and face to face as i will not be able to drive into brisbane every night for lessons - although catching public transport may be ok - i think Kilcoy is about an hours drive from Brisbane.
So.. i am beginner level portuguese. I am learning it so i can travel overseas and understand and interact with locals. I would like to spend as much time (nights, only; at this stage, i have to work in the day) on the language as possible as i will only have 9 months until i will be leaving for overseas! and i am not looking for any qualities in particular in my lessons or in a teacher at this stage as i will only be beginning to learn the language
