I am an absolute beginner in Bengali, but I wish to be able to communicate at a reasonable level to friends and relatives of my boyfriend who is Bengali. We plan to travel to Bangladesh in about 7 months so I do not have that much time though I am willing to commit whatever time it may take to be able to speak at a reasonable level to native Bengali people. I have completed three terms of Italian at a school in Leichhardt but was not progressing as well as I would have liked. I am interested in developing confidence in conversation skills (my parents and grandmother are first gen. Italians and I would like to be able to speak with them in Italian). I would say my skills are somewhere between beginner and intermediate.
I have two young children so would like to have private lessons that work around their schedules. It would be great to have someone come to my house to reduce the need to allocate time for travel to and from the lessons. I would also prefer a teacher that is a native speaker and one who has some form of teaching background.
