I have a close friendship with a Cambodian and I have visited Cambodia and found it most rewarding in its people ,culture and history and I would like to communicate on a personal level by learning to speak KHMER.I am a beginner and I would like at least two lessons a week. I am interested in studying to learn Khmer, the native language of Cambodia.
My partner is volunteering for an organization that provides funding for aid and development to local Cambodian organizations , and I believe this would be of great benefit to her.
Learnin g the local language would provide invaluable for her in country monitoring trips, and it would make her very proud to be able to directly converse with the local people when in Cambodia.
I would like to study Khmer with her because it is something that she would love.
We are able to dedicate 1-2 face time sessions per week, with additional practice time outside formal lessons.
W e are looking for someone who can provide beginner and upwards tutoring for small size classes, perhaps even private lessons, and possibly someone who's native language is Khmer.

My wife and I have been volunteering in Cambodia for several weeks at a time, around three times a year for the last four years.
I have been learning Khmer from a book for the last six months, but I find the phonetic spelling bears little resemblance to the actual pronunciation . The grammar is easy enough to understand, but I would like face to face lessons to get at least to the conversationa l stage.
I have time for 3 or 4 lessons per week, depending on the time of day.
I have not studied language before, but I would think patience and competence are requirements in any teacher.

I know how to speak Khmer fluently but don't know how to read and write Khmer and I want to learn how to read and write Khmer. I also have 3 boys aged 14, 12 & 7 years old but they don't know how to speak, read or write Khmer at all so I want them to learn with me. I'm looking for a qualified teacher to come to my house and give us private lessons on anytime after school between Monday to Wednesday or weekends for about 2-3 hours a week to help me and my boys learn to speak, read & write Khmer. Could you also give me a price per hour for the 4 of us and what times you are available. Thank you.
