Hi,
I want to learn Malayalam as it's the native language of my future in laws and i would like to communicate with them in their language if required. Also i want to learn the language to understand my partner's culture better.
I am interested in only speaking and understanding Malayalam. Not interested in writing and reading the language. I am completely new to the language so the teacher will have to start from scratch with me.
I will prefer to learn live, in person but can consider online learning too.

We are malayalis.
H owever, our daughter who is 7 yrs old is not picking up enough malayalam. We would like her to be able to converse fluently in malayalam, and also to read and write. She knows the mere basics and can understand the language but speaks it with difficulty.
We are looking for a teacher who can provide an hour or two each week (preferably saturdays)- either at our home or the teacher's place.

do not know much malayalam. want to learn how to converse in malayalam and also understand more of the language. i am fluent in english and mandarin and have learnt greek and japanese. want to learn another language.
i want to be able to hold a proper conversation in malayalam. maybe just basic to start with and slowly progress into more difficult areas. just common conversationa l words.

I am a beginner trying to learn malayalam, I have abeen studying a book called 'Learn Malayalam in 30 days - national intergation series' having finished the book i still dont feel like i can really converse in malayalam. I also bought the 'Malayalam tutor' cd by Vidhyarambam but that has not helped me to be able to converse in malayalam either.
I really want to be able to converse comfortably in malayalam, I know a fair bit of vocabluary and a little bit about tenses.
I would like to learn quite quickly at first, say a few hours a week, as my need is rather urgent, there after maybe just make it one hour or 2 hours a week.
I am looking for a teacher who is sensitive and flexible
