I would like to learn to speak Cantonese. I have no experience in the language, unfortunately . My boyfriend is Cantonese, and his parents speak little English. I would like to be able to communicate with them more fluidly. We are also going to Hong Kong in a few months to spend time with his family and I would like to be able to speak at least a little of the language. I am a little busy, but can squeeze in lessons on weeknights or weekends and between my boyfriend and his parents am actually surrounded by the language several times a week.

I am a total beginner looking to be perfectly conversationa l and being able to read well. I'm trying to learn because I am looking to go to Hong Kong to teach esl or simpy to be of service. I would also possibly want to pursue a career there.
I have a simple schedule right now and would be willing to switch my schedule a bit for the class. I am looking for a teacher who is a native of hong kong preferably. A teacher who is patient and polite, but doesn't waste time in our learning. I'm a very intentive listener with a passion to learn, I can't wait to get started.

I am a beginner with no Chinese experience. I have been looking for a teacher in the Chicago area and am having difficulties finding an instructor. I am planning on attending a 'class' once a week for however many weeks it takes me to develop a good foundation. However, this also depends on the cost.
