Currently I speak a beginner's level. I know a lot of vocabulary however I ahve a difficult time putting them into sentences. I am a visual learner and I am confident that if I learn how to read and write this will not olny speed up my understanding but give me a stronger foundation. I am married to a Vietnemese/Ch inese man since 2002, however have known him since 1994. His parents do not speek English, however we communicate okay. I also have a great deal of opportunity with my business if I spoke more fluently with the language.
My BIGGEST desire to grasp this challenge and finally just learn the language is b/c I have 2 sons under the age of two. I am just starting to see how: (1) I believe I am holding my son's knowledge back and (2) He is starting to come home knowing more than me. I know more than it seems but when I am in front of family, I get embarressed and I blank out. My son understands everything I say, but my grammer and structure is not correct but I suppose he has learned my style.
My husband and I feel strongly that we want our boys to grasp vietnemese before English. I want to be realistic and say that I believe I can devote 1 hour a night. But if more is needed especially in the daytime I can work it out. This is a crucial time for me and I am willing to give it ALL. As mentioned earlier, my goal is to read, write and speak in Vietnemese, however, if the speaking is the teacher offers than okay.

Dear Sir or Madam;
I would like to learn to speak, read, and write Arabic. I have no Arabic language skills but am partially Lebanese. I am a native English speaker and have learned to read,write and speak Spanish pretty fluently over the years. I would love to learn Arabic to be able to visit Lebanon and other countries one day and to converse without an interpreter. I also would like to be able to use it in a professional environment eventually. I am considering taking a beginning Arabic course through my university this semester (starting the 27th of August), but remembered about your website and wanted to see how your beginning Arabic course was set up. I live in the Brandon/Tampa area of Florida and work until 4:30pm every day and would prefer a weekday class preferably Monday or Wednesday or Friday (between 5-7pm). I may be able to do something on Tuesday or Thursday but won't know for a couple of weeks. But if you have the time to teach me, I would like to know by next Monday if possible so that I can make a decision about the University course. How much would this course be total (including materials)? Would it be Modern Standard Arabic? Would you be able to teach me any colloquial Lebanese arabic? How much outside homework would I have? Is it a group learning environment or one on one? I prefer as much immersion in the language as possible. I hope to hear from you soon.

Had five years French in school, 22 years ago. Had an additional year French 1999/2000. Would like to improve my level to pass NATO SLP 2222 at least, SLP 3332 at best. In other words, writing, conversation and reading should not cause any problems.
