Dear Potential Swahili Teacher,
I am desiring to learn Swahili because I love the language and served briefly as a medical missionary with my family in southern Tanzania in the early part of 2013. I am married with 4 children and we all went and served and lived in southern Tanzania ( Arusha, Mtwara, and Ndanda ) in early 2013 serving with the Mission Doctors Association.
I am trained as a US physician and would like to continue to serve on occasion at the mission hospital in southern Tanzania ( St. Benedict's Ndanda ). As my Swahili was only at the beginners level ( probably a 4thgrade level ), I thought that working on the language in my spare time here in the US would serve me well for when the opportunity comes to be able to return again to serve in Tanzania. And I love the Swahili language and would like to become more proficient both in the reading and writing and speaking of the language.
And so grammar and conversation would be so helpful both to better enjoy my Tanzanian experiences and to better serve as a physician when I am able to return to serve there ( at 1 month intervals ).
I can dedicate about 1/2 - 1 hour a day.
I have a number of good resources but would appreciate the opportunity to learn from a teacher perhaps once a month.

I am studying to be an ethnomusicolo gist and want to study the music of Nepal. In order to do so, I really need to learn the language. I have tried learning from a book/audio course, but I don't really get any practice having conversations . I feel that learning from a person would be far more effective.
I am a student, though, and on a limited income, so I am also interested in keeping my expenses down.
I have been studying a lot about Nepal and I have already fallen in love with the country, its history, and its culture. Learning Nepali should only enhance that love and I look forward to spending a great deal of time in the country.

I am actually looking for a Japanese tutor for my 11-year-old daughter, who has been teaching herself Japanese from a workbook I found on Amazon and an iPhone app. In addition to some phrases, she knows colors, fruits, some transportatio n and relatives. She's an exceptional student (straight-A student and her standardized test scores nearly off and completely off the charts) and is self-driven. She is really trying hard to learn Japanese on her own, but she needs a tutor. She really wants to be able to read Japanese. She would like to meet with a tutor at least once a week.
