I studied French 3 years ago in school for 2 years. I would say i am a beginner as i have forgotten alot, but can read and understand somethings fairly well. I am already studying nursing at uni, but would enjoy maybe 1-2 hrs a week learning french as a hobby and hopefully one day spending a few years over there. I am pretty good with languages and probably need most help with conversation and speaking skills, i remember most french grammar but may need to polish it up. I want a teacher that teaches me the most important parts as i enjoy studing individually and would pick the little things up myself, also someone who pushes me to try harder and doesnt say i sound good if i dont. But be nice :)

I'm a beginner at all the languages I want to learn. There is no practical purpose for my desire to learn, really; I simply want to. However, I do see practical benefits like being able to converse with people around the world, and being able to read foreign texts in the original language. I suppose you can't truly judge Sartre's or Voltaire's or Rilke's or Homer's works if all you've read are the English translations.
