I've tried the 'teach yourself' approach with very limited success, so I would definately class myself as beginner. I made friends with and english speaking French student a few years back. I visit him and his friends regular, in Paris. Questions and answeres! Listening, understanding and then responding to them. When put on the spot, I go blank. I've been told my pronunciation is very good. I would like to spend a minimum of 2 hours, one on one, plus any homework. A little patience, expertise and skills in communicating effective methods of learning. If I could read it, read it again, understand the meaning, copy it, say it, hear it.....in that order, I feel my progression would be good.
