I have only familiarity with amharic. Bizu gwaddegnoch habesha alegn. I have been to Ethiopia. I intend to return and would like to converse fluently with my friends. When I was in Addis, I spoke no amharenya yet cab drivers could understand some of my english, I would say my understanding of amharic today is analygous.
I am exposed to Amharic often, I would like a teacher to enlighten me as to sentence structure, grammar, tense and all the elements that might help me move from understanding words to full communication .
I live in Southern Virginia, but would be willing to travel once or twice a month for lessons if telephone, internet, video conferencing were not possible.

Beginner at Arabic, will learn either Egyptian (preferred) or standard. My family is from Egypt, unfortunately I didn't pay much attention when I was little! I want to learn for personal reasons, to better connect with my heritage.
I can probably dedicate not that much time to this at my current stage in life, three times a week 1 hour each? Whatever is necessary.
I'm looking for a teacher who is patient and understanding about my current financial situation, since I am a volunteer through VISTA. Maybe work out some half-payment, half-food deal.
