Hi. My name is Piers. I'm seeking a tutor, or classes, to practice my Mandarin speaking. In time I want to get to the standard where I can easily hold a good conversation without thinking too much!
Now I'd say my speaking is probably around the standard of a good 'GCSE'. I know pin-yin, but hardly any characters at all. I wouldn't mind learning a bit of reading/writi ng, but speaking/list ening/conversa tion is very much my main priority.
My aims in learning are partly for career advancement (I'm a 24 year old graduate, moving into a career in international business), partly for travel (I spent a year in Taiwan and I'm certain I will live again in Taiwan/China at some point in years to come), and partly personal, because I love the language and culture.
M y ideal teacher will be keen to spend a lot of the time helping me practice having real, practical conversations , but also a little bit helping me get my pronounciatio n right, etc. I would like to spend somewhere between an hour and four hours a week with you, at evenings or weekends.

Hi my name is Helena, i'm a begginer when it comes to oriental languages but its culture fascinates me!
I know some Japonese (romanji, katakana, hiragana) and one or two words in chinese.
I would like to learn as much as i can abour this languages speacilly wrighting and speaking.
Un fortionally I don't have much time to invest, because, so far, i don't have internet at home, but i come every day for like an hour or so.
Well since i don't hve much money, cause i'm going through coledge and that is expensive all b it self, i wished for a lil' generosity, cause it would be so much better if the lessons were free, however, the kindness is rare so at least could i have, if you know one, a site were you can learn this languages.

My name is Tyler Horton, I currently reside, live in London Ontario. I am currently between schooling, looking to enroll at the University of Western Ontario for september 2006 for a major in physics. I plan to continue on in education towards a doctorate. I currently speak English, as well as french, and wish to learn more languages, as I feel this will enable me to pursue a variety of careers in many countries. As well, I feel being able to converse with more people, as well as read texts in other languages, that have yet to be translated, will give me an edge over other indivduals. I have yet to learn any Chineese at all, nor any of the other languages I plan to study (this includes German, Arabic, Japanese). Personally, I wish to dedicate enough time to the point I become comfortable enough with the languge that I feel I could take courses in Beijing.

I am interested in learning Mandarin chinese and am an absolute beginner. I want to learn for personal achievement and because it could be good for my career advancements into another company as i am an air hostess.
I can take a couple of hours tuition a week and i have plenty of spare time to dedicate to study and homework.
I' m looking for a very capable and patient teacher that has experience in teaching mandarin. I would prefer a fluent speaking teacher. I'd like to be set a good amount of work to do out of tuition lesson time.
