Very much a begginer.
Le arning Farsi because I want to travel in Iran and meet the people. I wish to spend three months taking language lessons 5 hours a day five days a week. I would prefer a teacher who is more mature as I'm 68 and interested in chatting on topics during lessons that would interest both of us.

I know some basic grammar (regular conjugation, some basic irregulars) and have a minimal phrasebook vocabulary ('How are you? Where is Bob?' etc) in Farsi, but I am very motivated to become conversationa l in it.
I work and socialize with a number of Persians. While
they'r e supportive of my learning Farsi, we really don't
have many opportunities to get together and actually _study_ the language. I'm fortunate in that I have access to native speakers, but I lack a formalized curriculum or
student/t eacher environment.
My goal is to become conversationa lly proficient in Farsi. I'm willing to dedicate a couple (4-5) hours a week to this, as well as study on my own time. I have a few books on it (a phrase book, Thackston's grammar book, a dictionary), but frankly could use some correction. I have no knowledge of Persian script- while this interests me, it's not a priority.
I'm looking for an instructor who can help me get organized and methodical in learning the language, who's motivated to teach, and who doesn't mind a lot of questions.

2 adults and 2 children under 10 would love to learn farsi because of family background plus know very little already and this would be great for children to learn the whole language as a second language when they go to Iran at some stage in their lives. Would love to learn right from the start like beginner level (alphabet, numbers etc) like you would in school for both us adults and the children.
