Hi, my name is Chris Cortada. I'm a first generation American of Cuban decent living in Orlando, FL and am very interested in learning the spanish language. I have a basic knowledge of the language, but I would like to learn spanish fluently. My family is from Camaguey, Cuba, and I have a lot of family across the nation who I would really like to communicate with, but there is that language barrier, because most of them only speak spanish. I would like to learn spanish not only to have a better relatioship and communication with some of my family and friends, but also with my heritage, as well as be able to add the wonderful knowledge to my educational background. I would like our family to learn Italian (2 adults + 2 children, or at least the children) for extended travel in a few years. Group lessons are fine. I am looking for a teacher who are able to teach children by making it fun, interactive, etc. in a supportive environment. None of us know a foreign language.

The reason I want to take sign language lessons is because.. Well I've always wanted to. Ever since I was a little girl I thought that is was beautiful to watch someone sign. I mean, these people are like a bridge to other people who wouldn't be able to communicate very easily any other way. They help their community in a way that really can't be put into words, and if I could learn to be one of those people then I would.. All I need is a teacher. Now I know very little sign language right now. I mean, I know a few words and my ABC's but that's it. I would really like to turn signing into my profession if I could. So basically I will do what it takes to learn and I would really appreciate a teacher. Thank you for reading.
