Description 1) I have taken Spanish in High School for three years, although that was 7 years ago now. I have been attempting to speak Spanish at any time possible, but my grammar and sentence structure seems to be effected by the long period of time without studying Spanish.

2) I have taken Mandarin Chinese in thr University for two years and I believe it may be easier for me to begin again with this language, because I felt I did well. Most importantly I would like to come out of learning Chinese with a written knowledge of the language also.

3) I have never taken a formal Russian class, but I attend a Russian Baptist Church and the service is in complete Russia. They have interpretatio n and this is how I come to understand what the preacher is speaking about. Although I have become proficient in small talk, alphabet, and more.

I would hope to learn Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and Russian - so that I can become proficient enough with a quicker time period and more advanced than a beginning/int ermediate level at the University level. Therefore, I can take a test to pass the two years of ear language.

I would hope to dedicate two or three hours a week to the study, plus outside homework and studying (per language if needed).

T he qualities that I would look for in a teacher would be a systematic setup that is followed and would allow me to get ahead at my speed and not legging behind because the teacher isn't ready in their plan for teaching. Also a teacher who allows for different learning through mp3 back up of our online time and of new lessons and vocabulary.

Most important to know and understand the culture and History.

F or myself, I would like to become very proficient in grammar, composition, and of course speaking - a big vocabulary!

Thank you.

Description I will be teaching first or second year high school Spanish next year in Henderson (I am now presently in Seattle WA and won't arrive in Henderson until 7/30/07). I have a Bachelors Degree in Spanish but I haven't spoken Spanish much since receiving the degree in 1993. I mainly want to practice speaking and responding in Spanish (with grammar thrown in as necessary) and to learn vocabulary and phrases that would be specific to the classroom, for example, please take your seats or raise your hands or general classroom management commands. I'd like to take an intensive course with lots of verbal practice to prepare for the class that starts Aug 27th.
