I am 25 years old, my parents are native speakers of Mandarin and Taiwanese. I haven't spoken in Mandarin since I was 11 years old. I feel very sad about losing this beautiful language, and I also would like to visit China and/or Taiwan again, someday. I consider myself a beginner, but I know how the language sounds, and I can understand basic Mandarin about 60% of the time. But I cannot put sentences together, and I my vocabulary is extremely limited! I'd also like to learn to read and write in Chinese, which I've never been able to do. I am very committed to this endeavor.
