My grandparents are from Ukraine and speak Ukrainian and Russian but I never learned. I know only a few words in Ukrainian but I have heard it spoken my whole life and am somewhat familiar with the alphabet. I would like to learn Ukrainian (or Russian) to speak with my grandparents in their native language. I would like to become fluent and so am willing to dedicate the time that will be required to reach this goal. I am looking for a teacher that will guide me through my studies and that understands my personal desire to learn this language. I would like someone that is familiar with the culture as well and that can provide on-going instruction in personal and via email, phone, etc.

I have been self-studying Japanese for about 4 years. I would call my proficiency level advanced beginner/inte rmediate.
I have been interested in the Japanese culture and language for nearly 6 years, and I hope to pursue a career in translation and interpretatio n. I am also a singer and I have a real passion for Japanese music. As well as being able to communicate effectively in Japanese, it is important to me to be able to fully understand what I sing.
I am located in Sarasota, FL and I would be willing to take lessons over skype or something similar if live lessons would not be a possibility.
I look forward to finding a tutor - hopefully someone who shares my passion for the language!
