Although I have studied Farsi for three years, I cannot speak and my reading is far below being proficient but I do have considerable knowledge of the language. I travel to Iran each year as a tourist and strongly desire to be able to communicate via conversation with my new friends. I also want to be able to read poets such as Rumi, Saadi and Hafez. I would like to meet at least twice weekly with a teacher. I need a teacher who really understands 'teaching.' And who is patient. I am 72 years old with some hearing loss. I want to see progress in my speaking ability.

My roommate and I are looking to learn Farsi. We are both beginners with no experience. Additionally, we are wanting to learn Farsi b/c we are both 1/2 persian and wanting to utilize this language as a career advancement. We are both currently in law school, so depending are where we would meet would depend on how many hours we can put in.

I had a basic understading of the persian language as I have attended the basic course, but I need to be able to carry out a conversation and be able to make my point accross in such a mnannar that I am understood. I am willing to spare 2-3 hours a week only for a class or a private lesson in Bahrain or my home town.
