I am currently studying French as a major at UCF. I'm also studying Italian and Russian through school and Swedish on the side. I am confident in my French and Italian, but my Russian and Swedish can definately use improvement. Russian grammar and pronunciation are my hardest points.
I'm studying languages to one day work overseas. I plan on volunteering with either the Peace Corp or Medecins Sans Frontieres upon receiving a BA. I hope to one day be employed with the United Nations. I dedicate as much time as possible to learning languages. I currently work in a tourist area at a high-end luggage boutique, which brings in many foreigners and allows me to practice conversation. I listen to books on cd (usually French or Russian) while driving. The most effective way I've found to learn languages is to watch movies my favorite movies in other languages.

My level would be a Beginner. I know some words and some phrases. example: Tack sa mycket, Tack for maten. though I had to look these up for spelling reasons.
W hy? I live with and plan to marry a girl from Sweden (Malmo) and would like to be able to converse with her family in their langauge. Also, If I am to marry her, there may be the possibilty that I may end up living there some day.
Need improvement in most areas, Grammer and parts of speech. though I know some words it is difficult to form sentences.
I would like to get on a regimen of 2 times a week, for 1-2 hours each session. with homework type learning on top of that.
I would like a teacher that is acclaimated to the southern dialect of Sweden. (if possible, if not, my girlfriend will be here to help)

I am a beginner and have never taken any courses to learn. My fiance is Swedish and there is nothing else I would rather do than learn to speak Swedish so I can speak with his family and friends when I go visit and when they come to Boston for our wedding next year. I can do 1-2 lessons each week as long as I contniue to learn and make progress. I would like a teacher who is patient and willing to give me a try. Thank you.
