As far as chinese (mandarin) goes I am a beginner. I fell into the language when I lived in Vancouver and had a close interaction with the chinesse community. I learned mostly the basics and due to lack of practice I have forgotten part of it. I'd like to learn mandarin for many reasons, including career advantage, interest in the culture and also because I am planning to visit China in the upcoming year. I would emphasize in grammar and conversation and I'd like to dedicate 3 hours per week to the study of the languaje. Preferably intensive classes on Saturdays.
What I am looking for in a teacher is: languaje knowledge, patience, high expectations about his/her students, high demanding standards,lot s of excercises and conversation practice and a kind way of teaching.
