I am currently teaching English in Shanghai and will return to Atlanta in June. I will be working in Atlanta for a year before starting graduate work in Chinese studies and Mandarin. I would like to take next year to learn some beginning Mandarin with a private tutor or possibly a small class. I would like this to be once or twice a week. I would be especially interested in a tutor who could come to Alpharetta, but I am also willing to travel to Atlanta.

I have very, very basic knowledge of Mandarin and I am interested to really learn the language because I want to gain expertise in other Asian tongue. A 3-hr session every week would be ideal. A very competent and patient teacher will suffice. My level of Spanish is more advanced as I had an opportunity to study in Spain.

I am a native Spanish speaker spending a few months in Beijing in order to learn about Chinese culture as well as its language. My proficiency level is beginner.
