My fiance as well as several of my friends are Chinese.

We are 3 French ladies in Singapore for the next 6 months (could be a year). As we are on social visit visa we would like to do something and learn Chinese Mandarin.
We haven't got any idea of Chinese. We would like to be able to speak the day to day Chinese in case we will be transfered one day to China.
As we are not working we do have plenty of time, but we don't have plenty of money as our husband are studying in Singapore in an MBA school. Numbers of hours per week to be discussed
We are looking in having the possibility to have a teacher coming over to our house, he/she must understand and speak well english and to be comprehensive as we are all French so English is our second language.

I have just started work for a chinese manufacturer and wish to learn Chinese Mandarin to aid communication to the management and plant engineers.
I would need to start at basic level and build up to full conversationa l level over a period of time. As I will have to visit China a number of times a year it would be nice to be able comminicate on a social basis as well as business.
I would like to understand and follow etiquette and politeness and the culture of the chinese people.I have been amazed by the history, character and depth of the country.I want to know and understand more.
I would look towards intially a couple of hours per week tuition perhaps becomimg more intensive as trips become planned.
I would like the teacher to be patient and honest in their approach and look forward to the challenge of developing a fun programme of learning geared to my abilities.
