I would like to learn a foreign language because although I don't necessarily need to learn another language, I'm sure it would come in useful many times in the future. I would like to learn Spanish because it is one of the most useful, and widely used languages. Learning another language would also open up new doors for many volunteering, and part-time career opportunities .
I am at a beginner level in Spanish. I have never learned it before, but I know a few of the basic phrases, such as how to start some casual conversations . I don't really know how to pronounciate the words correctly yet.
As I have barely started, I'm a beginner in all categories, and my strengths and weaknesses have not yet differentiate d themselves yet. However, taking my experiences with other languages into account, I would say that my pronounciatio n would need the most improvement, along with my oral capabilities when having a conversation with someone.
I also have interest in learning German or Italian, as I am planning on traveling to Europe sometime in the future, and would like to be familiar with some widely spoken European languages. However, I do not have any experience with German, and my Italian is very limited to musical terminology.
I am also interested in learning some Japanese. I know some common words and phrases, but I think my pronunciation is a little off. I am likely going to travel to Japan for a school trip next summer, and would like to at least learn some of the basics.
I am willing to dedicate as much time as possible in order to learn any language correctly, as I would like to become quite fluent with any languages that I learn.
While I am not looking for any highly specific qualities in my future teacher, I feel that I work best with enthousiastic , patient teachers and interactive lessons.

I am learning the Norwegian language because I wish to live in Norway as a permanant resident. I am at the very basic level. I need to start from the ground and move up. I have had no structure to my current learning as I have been using books alone. I can dedicate anywhere between 4-6 hours a day of learning + saturdays and Sundays. I really want this, and willing to put in as much time as needed. I am looking for someone who is willing to push me to my limits and beyond. I never say no to a learning experience, if you're willing to teach it, I'm willing to learn it.

My goal is to eventually become fluent in Spanish for traveling to Central and South America. I have taken a beginner class at Gabriela Mistral School and have the notebooks and textbooks from there. I also have other Spanish textbooks I could use and learn from with my tutor.
I would say that I have a basic knowledge (some nouns, verbs, conjugation) and do well with writing and reading but need more help building my confidence with speaking. I studied French for 10 years and find that helps with learning spanish.
I am looking to meet once or twice a week for one hour. I would love to have a teacher/tutor that has worked at Gabriela Mistral then I would already have the text books and could continue in formal classes there in the fall.

I would like to improve my beginner to intermediate Spanish. I would like to volunteer in Latin America for at least one year. I am working on volunteering in Bolivia and if I get the volunteer job I would need to leave in June 2012 so I have one month to learn as much as possible. I would like to be more fluent in conversation and more specifically learn the words used in the tourism marketing industry. I need to improve my grammar and my accent. My primary focus is to improve on my conversation skills. I am currently unemployed and aiming to volunteer in Latin America in June or July. I am looking for a teacher who is patient and can assess the language skills I already have and help me to be able to work in Spanish speaking countries. A native Spanish speaker is preferred.
