Hi, I'm going to be travelling throughout Southeast Asia next year and am planning on spending a fair bit of time in Thailand. I don't currently know ANY Thai but I think that I pick up languages relatively quickly (I speak a little Spanish and used to learn French). I would like to be able to communicate basic things and converse effectively and am looking for someone to sit down with me once a week or fortnight and teach me some things. Thanks =]

Currently I can speak basic introductory Thai language. I have now practiced Thai language and I need a refresher course or tuition. I cannot read or write the Thai language but this is something that I should try. In the past I have taken an introductory Thai language class at a University. I have reviewed language Cds. My office is in China Town and this would be a good place for me to learn. I still travel for business and vacation so I cannot meet every week.

I want to learn Thai as a hobby, and also I have Thai friends and visit Thailand to visit them and they come to Sydney to visit me and would like to be able to join in with the conversation instead of waiting for it to be translated.
I am a beginner though know a few words, though need to learn grammar, conversation etc.
My days off work vary from week to week as I am a shift worker though have blocks of days off 3-4 in a row and able to dedicate a couple of hours per day or similar.
I am looking for a teacher that has lots of patience, friendly and willing to teach without getting frustrated, a teacher who has experience in teaching beginners and is willing to learn together.And of course can have a laugh at my mistakes from time to time, a teacher that is close to my suburb is preferable.
