My best friend and I are travelling to Italy next May for 2 weeks (part work and part holiday)
I learnt Italian at school (+20 yrs. ago, but never spoken since) and my friend has never learnt a language.
I am looking at getting us some basic lessons (for a gift for my friend) so we aren't completely ignorant, and can find our way around (we are driving for part of the trip)
We both are very busy with work and family commitment so we will need to co-ordinate and may be able to only meet up once a fortnight, or so.
I am not expecting conversation level italian in a just few short lessons and we are both very aware that to have some attempt a speaking Italian is appreciated.
We are both very much looking forward to immersing ourselves in the country (and the food!!) and I feel that learning some basics could make out trip even better!
