I have visited China three time over the past year for business. I realize that it would be beneficial for me to have some basic skills in communicating in Mandarin, for business needs as well as for vacation.
Fo lowing my visits to China, I started to use lessons on compact disks but my progress is slow to date.
My current work requires me to travel frequently, approximately 25% or the time. Consequently, I would appreciate a teacher who has some flexibility in time, able to provide me with a schedule of possibly two sessions per week.
Idea lly, I would like to start by developing basic conversation skills.

I want to begin learning Mandarin because it is so widely used in the world and definitely beneficial to know for career advancements. I want to take Mandarin lessons as a fun summer activity and would want weekend mornings once a week. I am French Canadian and I have always had a great interest in languages. Besides French and English languages, I master Spanish language as a mother tongue, as I lived for many years in Spain. I am also a professional in language field as I am a Spanish translator, technical writer and terminologist .
Catalan
I got to understand it perfectly (oral and written)when I lived in Cataluña and Andorra. However, as I left these regions twelve years ago, I have not had the opportunity to work on this language since then. But the main point is that during my stay in the Catalan regions, I never spoke catalan... and this is something I really want to do someday.
A rabic (Lebanese)
M y husband being Lebanese, I understand some words and expressions in this language. However, I really would like to speak it and understand (oral) it well. Therefore, I am interested in learning the Lebanese oral part of that language. The teacher should teach in Gatineau (Gatineau / Hull areas).
Ma ndarin
I developped a great interest for the Oriental cultures these last years. I really would like to know more and get closer to them. I understand the first and main way to do it is by learning their language. Going to China is a dream for my husband and me, but I never would go without knowing the language. I would like to find a native teacher in Ottawa region (Ottawa, Gatineau, Hull)for my husband and me.
