I am a native English speaker who speaks basic Cantonese and can read basic Chinese characters. Would like to learn to speak Mandarin and read fluently, thinking of working in Asia someday. I would like private lessons several times a week. Level: not too sure
Reason: I'm Chinese Canadian. I have spent 2 years studying Mandarin at Mcgill. I spent 8 months in Beijing, China. While I was in China, I noticed my Chinese had improved by 10 folds. I came back to Canada in September of 2004. Since then, I have had a lot of trouble finding a class that is suitable for my 'in-between' level.
Areas of trouble: conversation
Time: it depends
Qualities: I learn best with repetion and constant practice. I am looking for a teacher who will provide private lessons at a reasonable cost for a student.
