My son had a Russian Nanny as he was two months premature and I worked full time. At one point he could understand most of what is discussed in Russian and could talk with confidence in Russian. Since going to Kindergarden he is losing his ability to speak and understand Russian due to lack of use.
I believe a second language is important to learn.
His proficiency level would be a beginner. I couldn't say what areas he needs improvement because I do not speak the language myself.
I would like my son to get lessons at least once if not twice a week.
Able to have fun and still advance my son's language capabilities.
My son is well behaved and enjoys learning.

I am learning Russian not only because of my heritage, but also because I want to work abroad within the next few years there. I would describe my proficiency level as intermediate - I took two years of Russian during my undergraduate education at Brown University. My conversation is not bad, definitely basic - I remember a lot of grammar, but I frequently make basic mistakes. My reading and writing are definitely the areas where I need the most work, and I need more advanced vocabulary.
I have a job on the weekends, so the weekdays or weeknights would be preferable for me at this point, with a contingency for flexible rescheduling. Twice a week would be ideal, and I would prefer it if homework was assigned.
My optimal Russian tutor would be fairly demanding, and able to quickly develop my skills in both reading, writing, vocabulary, conversation, and grammar. I should be able to handle any style of learning, but I would emphasize my need for results within the next few months.

1- My mothers fascination with Russian history led to my interest in Russian. I began taking Russian at my old school. I excelled quickly and immediately fell in love with the language. My new school, North Atlanta High School, does not offer Russian, which is why I am pursuing instruction outside of school. On a side note, my girlfriend, Dasha, is Russian, being able to communicate in both languages is important. (My mother is a Georgia Tech alumni. She is the one who selected you due to your Tech experience)
2- I have been taking Russian for the past two years, 9th and 10th grade at Summerlin Academy in Bartow, FL. I was selected this summer into the Federal Service Language Acadamies 3 week Russian course at North Georgia College and State University. I feel very confident in my proficiency, until I try to have a fluid conversation with a person whose native language is Russian. I have a lot to learn to be naturally proficient.
3-I would like to advance in all areas. Currently I am most interested in improving my conversationa l Russian, however, I have been thinking of pursuing a career where I could use Russian, so I would like to be well rounded.
4-R ussian is the only class I have ever done extra work just because I enjoyed it. I am willing to dedicate as much time as I can without interfering with my other classes. I can take two classes a week.
5-I am looking for lessons that teach Russian that I will be able to use in my everyday life so that I will be encouraged to practice. I want to perfect my pronunciation . I want to respectfully and politely be able to converse with native speakers with ease, not just my girlfriend. I want to be able to communicate effectively with her parents, friends of mine both native and second language, future business associates and so on. Ultimately, I dream of traveling to Russia and being able to communicate naturally enough to blend in and pass for a Russian myself!
