I'm searching for a punjabi language class that is for beginners. I would like a class that progressivly evolves into intermediate and then advanced. I want to learn all parts from script to conversation, however the basics like conversation, c common vocabulary and communication are priority for me. I currently am involved and hsve been for a few years with a young punjabi man, and although i understand somethings it is important i can interact completly. he is the eldest son and iam anything but closley associated by our ethnicity in fact i;m caucasion and am also a few years(3yrs)hi s senior. I need to be able to at least talk and communicate with his parents and family. As well as participate and be involved. most important too me is that i do and say the right things and do them respectfully. i want to give at least 7 hours a week to classes one on one and then i will practice within my friend circle and with my partner his brother and teir friends untill im ready to speak to his parents. as far as teachers go well i dont know if i prefer on gender over the other so thats up in the air, but i'm in need of a person who is 'batting on my team', there has been nothing nice about all the resistance and negative sterotyping and hurtfulthings said to or about me cause of my nationality alone and hard as it has been on our relationship we have come out on top and stronger than ever. I need a teacher that absolutly understands what i just said and is willing to help me find my way.

Hello or Should I Say Bonjour,
I n High School I Took French 1 and 2.
I learned a lot from it but yet so little at the same time.
Readin g the language from what i remember and have been taught i do really well, but when it comes to listening and grammar parts i do not so well.
I need someone who is patient with me and makes me feel comfortable.
I feel the reason i didn't do so well in high school is my teacher made me and the other students feel dumb if we didn't get it right away and didn't take the time to let us actually LEARN.
I want to become proficient in many languages, because i think it is something everyone should do and i would like to travel around the world.

I am a beginner, I have learned the cyrillic alphabet so far and thats it. I am learning russian because I recently visited Latvia and absolutely loved it. I met a lot of people I wanted to speak with but the language barrier was a problem. I plan on returning to Latvia annually for Ligo each summer, and want to be able to speak with my new friends.
I am looking for a bit of patience from a teacher, I may have trouble with pronunciation because I did not grow up creating or listening for the cyrillic sounds. I am 19, and eager to learn, and will dedicate what time is necessary to learn the language.
