I have been studying Japanese sporadically for the last six years via textbooks and self study, and have gained only an intermediate level of proficiency with the language. I want to learn the language because it has always been my dream to live in Japan and engage in the society there. I need help primarily with conversation skills, vocabulary, and speaking skills.
I am currently a part-time college student at a local community college, and I also work a part-time job in retail. I would like to study Japanese diligently and regularly on my own every day as I do now, but also with my teacher at least twice a week for at least one hour per session, but preferrably more.
I am looking for a native Japanese speaker who is flexible, understanding , and easy to get along with, yet firm and dedicated to teaching. I would like to engage in voice chat to help with my speaking, listening, and conversation skills.
I have experience teaching people from other countries how to speak English and helping them improve their English-speak ing abilities. I am familiar and comfortable with cross-cultura l communication s and working with language barriers and actually find them to be exciting and fun! I am looking to learn and have fun at the same time!
