My husband is from Holland and we are expecting our first child in October. I know that he is intending to only speak Dutch to the baby and I would love to be able to understand what he is saying to her. I am a beginner, even though I understand a few things from visiting Holland over the summer. I mostly am interested in learning conversation for now. Right now I have alot of free time so I could dedicate at least two hours a day to learning the language. I just hope to find a teacher who is patient and enjoys teaching Dutch and who knows how to make learning a fun experience.

I speak Arabic, Russian, Dutch, and would like to learn french and Mandarin. My Arabic is intermediate, Russian is intermediate (I have forgotten a lot), Dutch intermediate. I study all of these languages and require teachers who are skilled at teaching without using much english.

I know some very basic words in Dutch. I would like to learn Dutch because my mother is Dutch and my cousins, aunts, and uncles are all over in Holland. We have had some family reunions, and it is frustrating not being able to be a part of the conversation. My wife and two sisters are also very interested in learning the language. I am looking for possibly one or two nights a week. I am located about 40 min NW of Philadelphia and would be willing to travel within a reasonable distance.
