I want to learn Korean because it is the language my parents speak. I want to feel closer to my culture. I grew up speaking Korean to my parents, but I did not have many Korean speaking peers, so I didn't practice very much. I can understand most conversationa l Korean, and I can communicate as well, but not often very gracefully.
I'd like to improve in conversation, grammar, and reading comprehension .
I'm looking for two hours of lessons, plus up to three or four hours of homework/read ing/watching Korean movies, per week.
The qualities I'm looking for in a teacher are good nature, patience, strong knowledge of grammar and idiom.

I would like to learn some conversationa l Korean. My long-time boyfriend is Canadian born Korean and I would really like to be able to have a conversation with his Mom that is more comfortable for her. I have no vocabulary at this point other than Hello! I would also like to learn to read (at least basic) as I understand Korean writing is like an alphabet - I think being able to see the sounds of a word in writing could help my speaking/pron ounciation. This summer is very busy for me so I would like to start in the Fall. If possible I would like to join a small group/class (up to 20 people) that meets 2-3 times a week in the evenings.
