I found that Cantonese is quite important in B.C., expecially in Vancouver.Aft er graduate from university, I'm looking for to work in Vancouver, so it's such a benefit if I can speak Cantonese. I am a beginner. I want to learn Cantonese primarily for personal benefit and interest, communicating with Cantonese friends, and for career benefits. I need improvement in all areas such as grammar AND conversation. I am working a full-time job but will seek to dedicate as much time to learning Cantonese as I can afford outside of work. I am involved in the apparel retailing business. I would like to learn to speak Spanish pretty well to better communicate with my vendors. I would like to learn to at least understand and speak a little Cantonese or Mandarin to better communicate with my vendors. I think that all 3 languages would benefit me in my career. I took French in high school & college and picked it up pretty easily and I think that a transition to Spanish would not be terribly difficult. I DO think that learning either Cantonese or Mandarin will be VERY DIFFICULT but I am not looking for fluency just conversationa l.
