I'm a beginner, I'm Syrian Filipina. I want to learn my mother's and father's languages so that I can speak to them in their language. Also, for when I go to their homeland I will be able to speak to family there. Not sure how much time I'd like to dedicate on lessons maybe and hour or two depending on the rest of my school work.

My proficiency level in Spanish is at the beginner level. My husband is from Chile, so even though I have listened and been around his family and friends for many years I understand very little and do not speak the language at all. The reason why I would like to learn Spanish is that my husband and I are thinking of retiring in Chile within the next 10 years or so. I love South America finally feel as though I should get serious about learning the language well enough to live there one day. We recently moved to St. Louis and I do not have to work a daily job, so my schedule is flexible. I would like to dedicate time each day learning to speak Spanish, and am thinking of live, in person lessons once or twice a week.
I am looking for a teacher who teaches conversationa l Spanish. Although speaking the language is my primary goal, I believe I will learn faster with some reading and writing lessons or some teaching technique that will help me form mental images of what I am trying to speak.
