I'm learning Russian to speak with my girlfriend's family. She's from Kazakhstan.
I'd like to be reasonably proficient for simple everyday conversation -- to understand and converse with people and of course, be able to read.
I am a total beginner and only know like 5-6 words.
I can come for classes twice a week. I leave for Kazakhstan in 6 weeks.
I'd like a teacher who is fun, patient and understanding . If you're the shouting type, forget it. We'll end up killing each other. :-) Someone who will show me the way and make it fun to learn.
I also want a teacher who will make me speak Russian and not use too much English during class.

Hi,
I wish to learn Mandarin from scratch. I am a total beginner. I wish to learn it mainly for use during work to communicate with my patients as I am a doctor and sometimes patients can't speak in English or Malay.
I am looking at one lesson of maybe 2 hours every week for as long as it takes for me to master the language.
The teacher should be good at teaching the language in English as I think I will pick it up better that way.

I'm looking into learning Italian because I have always wanted to. I don'treally have any particular reason for choosing it. I'm hoping to be able to fit it into my schedule, so I'm looking for a flexible learning hours. Hopefully I would be able to learn as much as possible. I have taken some initiative to learn on my own, so I would say I pretty much know a little bit of Italian, but it gets a little bit difficult to concentrate on conversations .
