I am enquiring about a tutor for my son, who is going on an exchange program to Germany next year. The program is for one year. My son is a beginner. His first language is English. We are keen for face to face lessons, and would be happy for group or individual lessons in the local area. I would like the teacher to be friendly positive and keen to teach, with proven results. I am an opera singer and need to learn Italian to further my studies and open the possibility of work in Italy.
I have been singing in Italian for many years and know a lot of old 'opera italian'. However, I do not know the basics of the language.
So while I have a lot vocabulary versus a beginner student, my grammar level is beginner.
I have a strong background in languages and would favour an approach to Italian that is accelerated and focused on mastery of grammar. A teacher who will teach standard Italian rather than a dialect is preferred.
Lessons in the evenings or weekends of 1-3 hours.
