I hope to learn Arabic as the Middle East is an area of the world I would like to visit and maybe even work in one day.
I am an absolute beginner but, ideally, I aspire to a standard that would allow me to freely communicate with most native Arabic speakers in everyday situations.
I would be willing to dedicate around 3-4 hours a week on lessons as well as spending several hours a week learning and practising on my own following a tutors directions.
In a tutor I think it would be best if they were able to be patient and understanding as I have never encountered the language before.

I want to learn colloquial Arabic. I took an Arabic course with a Lebanese tutor in Abu Dhabi during my field trip to collect data for my research. I can read and write but that's for vocab, not grammar. I just want to focus on speaking and listening. Now I'm in Thailand and it's hard to find a native teacher.
