My daughter, Dr. Monika Dutt will be in Kolkata for 6 days starting from Nov 14, 2005. She needs to learn as much Hindi as she can within this time for future elective/NGO work as a physician - possibly in Jan/Feb. 2006. She needs private live lessons with as much intensity as possible to get a good start. Of course she will keep working on the language to achieve fluency. She is fluent in Spanish, French, bengali. I am sending this out as she is already on her way to Kolkata and I will inform her to follow up once I know if anyone is available.

I know about 20 words in arabic and consider myself to be a fast learner. I'd buy a book but I am very eager to start conversations and such, and am willing to invest in a private tutor. I am learning arabic partly because I'd like to visit Lebanon and Palestine, but there are other reasons which have to do with intercultural understanding that take more time to explain. I would have no problem at all setting aside 5-8 hours a week, more if necessary, to learn. Insofar as a teacher is concerned, it would be nice if I could be taught the lebanese way of speaking the language.

I am looking for someone to teach conversationa l Mandarin to my two children who are 5 and 9. Lessons to be given in my home located within walking distance of the subway in Etobicoke. I am an intermediate student. I can have a conversation in Chinese but haven't studied the language in almost 2 years and am forgetting a lot.
I lived in Hong Kong and Singapore for 7 years when I was young so I started learning Mandarin. I think it will help me in my career.
