My friend and I would like to learn Japanese over the summer. The reason is our role model speaks Japanese. We are both beginners, only knowing the basic 'hello', 'yes' and 'thank you'. We would mostly like to learn conversation starters, such as 'how are you' and 'i am fine'. Anytime during the summer for teaching i think would be fine. I would really appreciate your time. I have not started yet but I am very determined to learn Pastho. My motivations are mostly because of our involvement in Afghanistan.
I would be able to dedicate 5 hours a week minimum and will aim to increase this as we go along.
I have spent a year in China and practice Mandarin as opportunity will allows with my Chinese colleagues at work. I am fluent in English and French. I have retained my Armenian from interaction with family.
I want to focus on verbal/conver sation Pashto but welcome suggestions from the teacher.

I learned about Esperanto when I was a teenager in Czech Rep. I would like to learn good enough to penpal. It is also good for the brain to work on something.
So, I would be a beginner at this time.I need to learn the grammar, but would like to practice by conversations .
2 hours/wk for grammar .
