I've always had my mind set on learning another language (I speak German and English fluently) and I always thought it was going to be French, Italian or Spanish since what with living in Europe I'm mostly exposed to these language. None of these languages have however really excited me but I am head over heels in love with Mandarin. The sound of the language, the culture, the characters. Just about everything. I love speaking (even if I am quite bad at it for the time being), I love writing the language and discovering more and more things about the language as well as China.
I started lessons in February 2011 and have intermediate knowledge of the language, I passed my level 2 HSK exam in October 2011.

My 5 year old daughter is fascinated by all aspects to do with China! She speaks German as a second language. She has asked for Mandarin lessons and to learn about China.

I take a beginner's Chinese course (only two hours per week) at my university. I want to learn Chinese so that I'll be able to communicate during my 8 week long stay in Sichuan province this summer.
Furt hermore I hope to improve my chances for a successful career.
I would like to take lessons, which complement the course I'm taking in real life.
I'm serious about my studies and still have fun studying. I hope to find a teacher who can help me in advancing steadily.
