I had always wanted to learn sign language because I find it interesting and at the same time challenging. I am a beginner. Ü I am a nurse by profession but I don't have any work at the moment. I have applied for a certain agency and I am currently waiting for my deployment schedule which would hopefully be around two months from now. So I guess, I hope to find someone who could teach me sign language quick; or at least I could get to learn the basics before I leave.
On the other hand, I had just finished a 3-month course in Finnish language. Puhun vain vähän Suomea...Ü I have learned the basics and other grammar rules. But still, it would be nice to find someone to chat with in Finnish so that i could practice the language more and eventually puhun Suomea paremmin...Ü

I have always been interested in learning sign language since I was 10 yrs. old. My cousin in Negros Oriental is deaf and mute and I want to teach him how to speak... speak with his own language. I want to show him that even if he can't hear and can't talk just as much as every other people do, he can still live his life to the fullest.
I have no basic training on Sign language before since there is no such school here in Cebu. I want to learn this language this summer (in the Philippines), April or May of 2008. I just want a teacher who can teach me sign language in just 4 to 5 weeks.Thank you.

Im a biginner and I want to study those languages because I find them interesting, for career advancement of course. Ive been intersted with people and learn about their culture and it is important to learn their language as well and of course i want to have an edge. I love my job and I want to be a big asset to the company. Im newly hired and its my first job. Since there are time were handling foreign passengers learning those languages would be a great help.
There are still lots of things that I need to learn about, anyhow, I just have a little basic knowledge in sign language but not yet a pro.
Actuall y Im willing to have language study even 6-10 hours a day and 7 days a week, if its possible. But since I only have two days off ( during sundays and monday) I would like to spend 8 hours if possible.
Th e qualities I look in a teacher would be someone that is willing to work hand in hand with me, willing to teach me, and has lots of patience,a very understanding teacher so to speak. And if possible a teacher that like to converse alot and wide reader and could discuss anything and talks anything under the sun.and also some one that is systematic and knows his students needs and someone that is not selfish to impart his knowledge.
S omeone that will inspire his students not just to study his lesson but his views in life as well.( hmm I htink I said to much) Hmmm.

I would like to learn sign langauge through one on one (personal session). I don't have any background in sign langauge but I found the field very interesting. I am a psychology senior and i think it will be a great advantage to have a background in sign langauge.
I would like to have a patient tutor and preperably a psychology major or a SPED teacher is an advantage.
