I learn foreign languages for pleasure. I have done some self study in the various languages I'm interested in -- have grammar books and simple children's books to use as 'primers' (until now I've only tried to learn to read -- not deal with the spoken language) -- but working with a teacher would hopefully give me some focus and additional motivation.

Am a new beginner interested in learning the Georgian language
I got engaged to my fianc'e who speaks georgian and russian. I am fluent in russian but have no idea whatsoever when it comes to geogian. I basically want to learn georgian for communication ease with her family members who unfortunately are not as fluent in russian as i am.
I speak english too.
The qualities that am looking for in my teacher is mostly being taught by a native of georgia. Having learnt russian in moscow, i do see the big relevance in being taught by a native and its efficiency.

I do not speak any Georgian but would like to become fluent. I wish to learn it so that I can speak with the local Georgians when I visit there and for future employment opportunities . I have about 6-8 months to study full time before I start additional schooling in the fall of 2009. I am looking for a challenge in my classes and would like to learn as much as possible as quickly as possible.
