I would like to learn Catalan since I married a Catalan girl, and plan to live an dwork in Catalunya in the future.
I would also like to converse freely with her friends and family.
My level is beginner and I have high expectations. I would like to have full command of the spoken and written language.
I dedicate 2 hours weekly to web conferencing sessions, plus an additional 4 hours weekly in my own time of reading Catalan books, revising grammar and listening to Catalan digital radio.
I found in my teacher Monica Barnes, remarkable teaching skills. She uses active learning. A good teacher keeps you interested, motivated, makes the learining process fun. I have found all these qualities in my teacher.

I am in a relationship with a guy who is from India and who's native language is Kannada. It's very important for him (and equally important for me) to be able to communicate with his family.
I'm at a very, very beginner level and I really do want to get started as soon as I can. Pronunciation and grammar is important to do right especially if you want a strong foundation.
I'm able to meet once a week but will be able to practice daily.
I am looking for a teacher with whom I can relate to, who is patient and thorough, and is excellent at teaching language. I can understand Hindi/Punjabi but can not speak it very well.

Hi there, I have a Slovenian friend visiting San Francisco in January 2016 for a couple months and am trying to find a Serbo-Croatia n speaker that can teach him basic English verbal skills. He is interested in meeting at a coffee shop, public place or wherever the tutor suggests, walkable from Pacific Heights. Hello, my name is Andrea, and I am looking for a longterm Tagalog tutor to help me improve my spoken Filipino skills as I plan to travel and do business in the Philippines next year. Both of my parents grew up in Manila, so I understand fluent Tagalog (growing up my Lola and I would watch Mara Clara), but I really struggle with speaking, my accent, and writing. I can speak at a very beginner level, but I can read and understand fluent Tagalog at a very proficient level, not needing any help or translation. I am trying to dedicate 3-5 hours/week in classes on improving, in addition to a few hours each week for practice. I can practice with my family, though I feel I need more help getting started.
In my teacher, I am looking for someone who has experience working with passively bilingual Filipino learners, who can keep me accountable, and provide a structure and process for getting me to very proficient conversationa l level by the end of this year.
