I've met new Croatian friends who became family and I fell in love with the language. I visited the country and communication was somewhat of a barrier for most of the people around me so I made it my mission to learn the language because I plan to visit again.
I'm beginner who would dedicate as much time as possible to learn the language with the help of an effective teacher whose interest is as high as ( or higher) my need to learn.

My name is Christi. I am married to a man from Dubrovnik and we have two children. Because of my husband's job, he is travelling most of the year and doesn't have the time really to teach us his language. My in-laws in Dubrovnik do not speak any English at all and I speak VERY little Croatian. When we visit them, it is very difficult for me to communicate with them.
It is my goal to learn enough Croatian so that I can feel more comfortable when in Croatia. Oh, and one other thing: I know there are different dialects in many areas of Croatia so I would prefer someone who is comfortable teaching the Dalmatian way of speaking. Hvala lijepa!

Im in the process of looking for croatian lessons in melbourne. I currently live out in Rowville (near Dandenong) in the south east. But i also spend an equal amount of time at my partners flat in Carlton so i am prepared to travel.
I currently have a very basic knowledge of a few words so i would class myself as a beginner.
My reason for wanting to learn croatian is that my partner is croatian and i would like to be able to have a basic conversation when im in croatia in December.
