I am currently completing my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. For my 'Skill' section, i am seeking to learn Latin. My name is Phoebe and i am in high school at St Vincent's College.
I am able to apply myslef to learning a language, but my knowledge of Latin is limited, apart from its basic roots in English.
I would aim for at least one hour of tutoring per week, but i do not mind about the size of the class.
I take World History as my elective, and have done two years of highschool French. Last year I came first place in my Year Group in World History, English and Visual Arts,(and was also Dux of my Year), however irrelevant that is to my learning of Latin. I hope this helps.

I wish to learn portuguese as my father is portuguese and speaks fluently. I still have family that live in Portugal and I would like to communicate with them when I visit. My mother is English so we were brought up speaking only English as she cannot speak Portuguese.
I am a beginner. I know some words and phrases but not many, and my pronounciatio n would be below average.
I would be interested in doing 1-2 classes a week with homework if thats the way the course is run.
I would be looking for a medium-paced course. Not painfully slow so I finish and still cant string a sentence together, but not so fast that I cant remember what we did last lesson because I couldnt keep up.

My wife and I are travelling to Moscow and St Petersburg in August 2012. We want to be able to exchange common day-to-day courtisies with people, ask directions, find subway stations , order food etc.
Our existing knowledge level of Russion is NIL.
Apart from the need to recognize major signs we do not see a need for reading or writing skills in Russian.
We are looking for lessons for the 2 of us, on the North side of Brisbane.

I've always wanted to speak Tagalog, i love Filipino movies and one day i hope to travel there and just be able to speak Tagalog to everyone i meet.
