Hi! I am currently an exchange student in Korat, Thailand. When I go back to America, I don't want to forget the thai that I learned. I am looking for someone who can help me continue to study thai, as well as immerse me in other aspects of thai culture (because I will miss it so much when I get back) I am going to attend American University when I get back from Thailand, so I need a teacher in the Washington DC area. I would also be interested in learning other Asian languages, such as, Laos, Isaan Thai, Cambodian, and Burmese.
I am not a beginner at thai, but I am not advanced either. I have lived here for about 6 months now and by no means am I fluent yet.
I would like to dedicate a few hours a week, but I might need to be flexible with college, depending on my work load. College will come first for me, but learning thai is a close second.
Oh h and I am learning thai, because I love Thailand! I love thai people, thai culture, thai food! EVERYTHING! It is an amazing country and I am proud to call it my second home! :)

Hello, I am a male-to-femal e transsexual and I will be having surgery in Thailand in December, 2010. I will be there for 6 weeks. Furthermore, I am curious about Thai culture in general, and imagine a continued interest in visiting. I have essentially no background in the language, though I have been trying to learn some on the computer and from a book. My goals are to be able to have enough communication skills to get around, and also to establish the sincerity of my interest and intentions. I would gladly attend 1 or 2 classes/lesso ns per week, for all the time I am in town between now (April) and December. I will, however, be out of town now and again during the summer, visiting my partner in Canada. I would be most comfortable with a female who was comfortable with me as an American transsexual - which is different from a Thai transsexual (for starters I am married to and in love with a woman, and we have a family of 4 children). I am retired and will be able to practice and study frequently. I live in downtown Seattle, right near the Pike's Market, and would prefer to be able to walk to my lessons.

I am interested in learning Thai because my husband is half Thai and he forgot the language as a child. We now have a daughter and I want her to grow up learning my languages (Arabic, Armenian), English and Thai. I have tried to learn on my own with books, but nothing is sticking. Please help. I would love to be able to do the classes during the week in the daytime, because my daughter is in daycare at that time. I also would like to learn the alphabet. I have some understanding of it already.

I am a student wishing to learn Thai while I am in Washington D.C. over the summer. I have been studying on and off for a few years, and I am quite familiar with Thai culture. Unfortunately , I live in an area where the Thai community is very small. Since I will be in D.C. I would love to find a tutor to help me advance to the next level.
I can speak a little bit of Thai, and can read and write some as well. I do not wish to overstate my ability, for I am in need of much help on all fronts. I am looking for a tutor who is available in the evenings. I would love to have two to three lessons a week if possible.
