I have some free time before I start my Youth Corps, and I decided to learn a language to keep me company. I would like to learn how to read and speak Mandarin because I believe it's the language of the future. It's the second most popular language in the world, and the Nigerian government will soon start doing business with China, so I believe this is the language to learn right now.
I have not taken any classes in Mandarin so I'm starting off as a learner. I can dedicate 5 days during the week, about 4hours each day.
I would like my teacher to be fluent in Mandarin, he should be able to speak,write and read it. He should be patient and be encouraging.

I just returned from a two-week trip to China, my first, and I have a volunteer-tra vel organization that will send teachers to China, so I want to be able to speak to Chinese people on future trips, and just continue to learn about the culture and different parts of the country.
