Hi, I am traveling to Beijing and Shanghai for business in 1 month (July 2007).
I just want some basics in conversation to be polite and just get around. I may have some work-specific terminology (not technical) that I might ask to learn.

I am at an intermediate level in Chinese. I'm learning Chinese for career advancement and as a hobby. Conversation and grammar is where I need the most help. I plan to spend a lot of time practicing. I'm looking for someone who understands their language particularly well. Many people speak English, but not all people understand its mechanics or even know what an adverb is. I hope that my tutor can include bits of culture and explain some of the differences and similarities between mine and theirs.

Dear Miss. Xie,
My wife and I want to enroll our two children in Chinese lessons. Our daughter Clarissa is almost 6 and our son Kyle is 9 years old. They are both very well behaved and mature for their ages. Neither have any prior lessons in Chinese but they want to learn the language. Kyle is an accomplished piano player and his teacher is from China. Clarissa is also excited to learn Chinese and is currently studying Kungfu and her Sifu is a disciple from the Shaolin Temple of Songshan.
